An evil sorceress by the name of Rita Repulsa is freed from her space dumpster after being imprisoned for ten thousand years, and comes to Earth with intentions of destroying it. Meanwhile, an intergalactic being named Zordon and his assistant robot, Alpha, decide to recruit five teenagers and equip them with super powers in order to do battle Rita and her goons. Jason is made the Red Ranger and is given the power of the Tyrannosaurus. Trini is made the Yellow Ranger and is given the power of the Saber Toothed Tiger. Zack is made the Black Ranger and given the power of the Mastodon. Kimberly is made the Pink Ranger and is given the power of the Pterodactyl. And Billy is made the Blue Ranger and given the power of the Triceratops. The five teenagers now have the ability to morph into superheros as well as the power to operate their giant fighting machines known as the Dinozords. Together, they are the Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers.

They finish off Rita’s latest monster, Dramole, and manage to free their parents from Rita’s dimension. Finally, Tommy decides to stay on board as the Green Ranger for as long as his temporary power will allow him.
